Outings

The Android never thought he’ll ever get to see The Manics perform ‘live’ in Singapore… yet he did this very night at Fort Canning Park. And what a heck of a night it was.

James Dean Bradfield was fan-fuckin-tastic on stage, hopping around like a tubby imp WHILE delivering his guitar solos. Nick Wire looked larger than life… and he also looked like he was going to melt from the humid weather. Finally Sean Moore… well, Sean Moore’s just really, really short.

The punk rock band from South Wales were simply awesome. Dishing out great hits like Motorcycle Emptiness, Autumnsong, You Stole The Sun From My Heart, Design For Life and If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next. They even performed their rock cover of Rihana’s Umbrella!

The Android’s only gripe is that they only played one song (1985) from the Lifeblood album… and The Android loves that album.

Oh well.

The Android shall sign off now. Sorry if there aren’t enough photos… head-banging and photography don’t mix.

Food

The Android has not visited 580 MacPherson Road for a kway chap meal in many years, and decided to do so last night along with Lin Yee. If you are a huge fan of pig’s innards and kway chap in herbal braised sauce, you have to try Chuan Lai Kway Chap King.

Staples include the braised duck, deep-fried large intestines, a bit of everything else and at least TWO bowls of kway chap. Mmmmm…

Note to Darren: The Android survived! BOOYAH!

Outings

As JS would be leaving the Tribe (to be a teacher) soon, he graciously invited all of us to his palace place yesterday after work. And so, everyone headed over after a delicious crab dinner at House of Seafood @180 and ice cream at ICE³.

Once there, the dudes were quick to hook up the PlayStation3 and the gals wasted no time in setting up the mahjong table. The adrenaline was short-lived though. Alan, Carol and Tobing left after barely warming up the seats, Michelle dozed off after a bathroom break, the girls gave up after playing only ONE round, and the guys left at about 3am.

Nonetheless, The Android had loads of fun playing Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Thanks for the invite, JS!!!
