The Android has patronised this stall for many, many years and just realised he doesn’t have an entry on it. So here it is now, the first post of 2009.

If you like your Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee wet, gooey, full of lard, rich in crustacean stock and with strong wok hei, Come Daily is the place to go. You might want to try it with just a dash of lime and without the chilli, so as to fully savour the flavour of the excellent stock used in frying the noodles. Also, if you are a pig like The Android, you should go straight for the $5 plate and not waste time with the puny $3/$4 ones.

Although the stall’s name is Come Daily, do note that they are only open six days a week and closed on Mondays. They are located at Blk 127, Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, #02-27, Market & Food Centre and open from as early as 9.30am.

A wise man in the Tribe once said “Life’s a pitch… and then you die”. Well, The Android says if you’re gonna die, die happy eating the best beef money can buy!

That’s right… after bulldozing through the weekend in the office, Chris suggested rewarding ourselves with a grand yakiniku meal at Gyu Kaku, UE Square. Beautifully marbled Wagyu beef and fatty pork loin strips doused with tasty sake. Mmmm…

Been to Heaven and back. Nuff said.

JS was finally leaving us for good… and what better way to say goodbye to the crab man, than with a final crab meal? And so a crab meal it was at Seafood Paradise. Not the one at Singapore Flyer, but the other one at Defu Lane 10.

Yilin and Michelle did all the ordering, so it was kinda nice having that what-are-we-gonna-eat-next surprise.

Well, first they surprised us with the “side” dishes. We had the staple sambal kangkong, fatty black pepper pork ribs, fresh drunken prawns… and some weird-tasting beancurd with minced meat. The Android loves beancurd, but this one was simply… weird. Oh well.

Then they surprised us with the main event (okay, so it ain’t much of a surprise). We had the braised crab with vermicelli, butter cream crab and good old-fashioned chilli crab. The latter wasn’t fantastic, but The Android particularly liked the butter cream one. Do try it with the deep-fried buns. It’s DA BOMB!

Dinner was so fuckin’ tasty (read: MSG), Stevie could hardly move his neck by the time we were done eating. Hahahahahaa!
