The Android had been wanting to try “the other ramen place” at Central… so he had dinner there last night.

The Android’s verdict? Marutama is still the forerunner when it comes to noodles. Santoka’s ramen may be chewy, but tend to taste a little too “wheat-y”. However, they serve an amazing miso broth and delicious chashu. Their soup is more flavourful and less salty, while their meats are juicier with a bit of fat… just the way The Android loves it.

The ramen here are topped with chives, sesame seeds, seaweed, bamboo shoots and a slice of naruto fishcake.

After having to work for a little bit at the office today, Stevie had a craving for Korean food. So, along with Shintia and Yilin, it was off to Chowon Garden at Peck Seah Street for dinner.

For too long, The Android had been yearning for some good ol’ Yuk Hwe from his uni days back in Brizzie. Today, those fond memories returned as The Android slowly savoured the sweet, sweet, marinated raw beef once more.

Their other stuff ain’t too shabby either. The Android ordered the buckwheat noodles soaked in cold beef broth. Strange… yet extremely tasty. Stevie and Shintia were just happy having plain rice to go with Yuk Hwe and Samgyeopsal. Yilin ordered some spicy seafood soupy thingy with “uncurdled beancurd” (go figure). Not sure how that went though.

Will be back here on Monday, with Dawn and Michelle. No shit.
