The Android was given yet another belated treat, this time by the Lees. The Android was asked to select a venue and so he chose Ma Maison at Bugis Junction. The restaurant’s charming English cottage interior and its delicious French-Japanese fusion cuisine has made Ma Maison one of The Android’s favourite dining places.

Among Curly, Ben, Darren, Clare, Ethan and The Android, we had 2 clam chowders, 1 onion broth, 1 chasoba salad, 2 escargots, 1 camembert cheese fritters, 1 assorted sausages, 1 scotch eggs, 1 Japanese-style spaghetti, 1 cuttlefish ink spaghetti, 1 beef straganoff with butter rice, 3 hamburger steaks… oh, and 6 beers and 1 ice cream.

Not everything on the menu is good, but everything we ordered was great! The escargots are way better than the ones served at The French Stall, while the cuttlefish ink spaghetti beats the one at Pasta de Waraku hands down.

Great food. Great company. Nuff said.

Yeang Chyn gave The Android a belated birthday treat at La Viva Tapas Bar, CHIJMES.

The Android has been to this Spanish eatery ages ago, with the peeps from O. Unfortunately, The Android cannot quite recall what he ate the last time, as he was trashed before the food arrived. This time round, The Android made no such mistake and savoured every bite. We ordered the Mallorca Set, which included sizzling beef covered with garlic and onions, cheesy prawns on eggplant, pan-fried sangria chorizo sausages, and assorted seafood baked rice paella.

Everything from the juicy eggplant to the charred garlic stuck on the hotplate was excellent! What’s even better is that they have a spacious smoking section out in the courtyard! This 2-person tapas set is a little pricey at $39 per head before surcharges, yet the meal was tasty and filling. Thumbs-up.

The office peeps took a naughty three-hour break away from work today, to indulge in some lunch at some place far, far away. The place was TCC, located on the second floor of the Marina at Keppel Bay building.

The Android had the Sea Asparagus Chowder along with the Seafood Aglio Olio… and The Android was disappointed. The food was nothing fantastic and the ambience did not quite leave an impression for a marina by the bay. Yet, after all things considered, it was a company treat so no one complained.

Everyone pigged themselves out, knowing very well what was to come later in the evening… D’oh!
