Sports

Darren, David, Ah Ly and The Android have got our tickets! We will be heading over to the Indoor Stadium this coming Saturday for the WWE Summerslam Tour! The wrestlers slated to appear at the moment are Batista, Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy, Kane, Finlay and Kevin Thorn. Just who… in the Blue Hell… is Kevin Thorn?

… IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO HE IS!

The Android is sick and tired of humanoids telling The Android that wrestling is all fake and rehearsed! The Android is sick and tired of humanoids telling The Android stuff he already knows! Well, The Android says know your role and shut your mouth! The Android is 3 seconds and The Android means 3 seconds away from laying the Smackdown on all your candy asses! If you smell… what The Android is cookin’!!!

Yes… this is sports entertainment. But the hazards are real. So, whoever you are… whatever you do… please, don’t try this at home.

Outings

Just as The Android was coming down from the gig high on Saturday, an extremely nice client extended an exclusive invitation for The Android to get up-close and personal with Foo Fighters! That’s right, peeps… right here in fucked-up Singapore!

The venue was Fashion Bar at Clarke Quay and the place was packed with lots of local celebrities, pretentious socialites and beautiful plastic people. Apparently, it was some publicity event organised by Sony BMG to promote Foo Fighters’ sixth studio album, Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace, to the local media. Whatever man… Shan and The Android were busy helping themselves to the free-flow of alcohol.

When the band finally decided to grace the crowd with their presence, The Android was disappointed that only Dave Grohl and Nate Mendel showed up. The Android was so looking forward to meeting Taylor Hawkins in person. Regardless, they joked a bit, introduced their forthcoming album (slated for a 24th September local release) and then disappeared to grab some grub. Nate didn’t seem too keen on the whole focus group shite, as he commented that “…this feels like a job interview”. Dave wasn’t impressed with the emcee’s introduction of the band either.

Nate & The AndroidChee Hong Dave

So Dave and Nate sneak off for their dinner, the guests were presented with the new record and has it already been mentioned that Shan and The Android were busy helping themselves to the free-flow of alcohol? BURP! Anyhoo… if you asked The Android, the new album has a couple of catchy tracks but it ain’t no where near In Your Honor or even Nothing Left To Lose. Yet you never know… Foo Fighters material are known to grow on you.

When the two blokes returned to mingle with the crowd, everyone rushed to get an autograph and camera flashes went crazy. The Android managed to get a photo taken with Nate! It was difficult reaching Dave, though. First and foremost, being the band’s front man, he was naturally hogged. Secondly, the fucker was quite the chee hong and allowed himself to be photographed mostly with the chicks. Last of all, he was only available for like, 5 lousy minutes before the bodyguards escorted him out of the area.

Nevermind the bollocks… The Android’s one happy dude.

Band

Wickham Street’s first official public gig at Against The Wall last Saturday (co-organised with Midnite Rockers) was a success! Well, almost a success if it weren’t for the screwed-up sound system they had there. Yet, it would never have been close to where it came to be, without the strong support of all you beautiful people who bothered to show up.

The Android would personally like to extend his deepest gratitude (in no order of merit) to Law, Ling, Curly, Clara, Cain, Tasha, Ginny, Sue, Eugene, Yeang Chyn and the wonderful humanoids from Osmosis Interactive (and Jerry), for taking time off their precious weekend to come support us. Luv you all deep deep.

Kudos to Zen Tao as well, for taking most of these awesome shots of the band you see below. You might also wanna check out some of the photos Kahong took. For those who missed the show… you might wanna visit YouTube.

The Android now hopes to get some honest feedback from you. Will you turn up for another Against The Wall gig in future?
