The Brizzie posse (and Curly) congregated at Hogs Breath to catch the live telecast of the annual rugby league grudge match, State of Origin… and what a match it was!
Queensland managed to pull off an incredible 25-18 win over NSW in its opening match at the Suncorp Stadium, despite being down and almost out at 6-18 during half-time! The Mighty Maroons quickly composed themselves early in the second half to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.

Greg Inglis planted his second try in the 50th minute from a Darren Lockyer pass, narrowing the gap to 12-18. Steve Price then proceeded to level the score line for Queensland in the 58th minute. A critical (and quite hilarious) blunder by NSW gave away yet another Maroons’ try to Darren Lockyer with 20 minutes remaining. Not satisfied with the 24-18 lead, the nimble Jonathan Thurston sneaked a 25-metre field goal in the 69th minute to seal the Blues’ fate. With the amazing display of his kicking prowess throughout the night, it came as no surprise when Thurston was awarded the Man-of-the-Match.
To the Blues supporters The Android bumped into this morning: Thanks for the “good luck” and we’ll be seeing you wankers in a month!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!
