Food

Clare’s Mum is currently visiting from Taiwan. So she whipped up a storm in the kitchen last night and invited The Android over for dinner!

She made 餃子, 酸辣湯 and The Android finally got to feast on 傳説中的滷肉販! Everything was heavenly!!! The 餃子 was pack-filled with meat & chives and went extremely well with the delectable 酸辣湯! And the 滷肉販 simply beats the ones The Android tried in Taiwan hands-down! Just how good was it? The Android had TWO overflowing bowls all to himself!

Definitely skipping lunch today… BUUURRRP!!!

Kill!

In her own words, Tasha likes to watch ching chong epic movies, so The Android was dragged along to the latest one that was projecting on local screens.

After the show, The Android developed more cause for paranoia. Friendship was depicted in the film as something intense and wonderful… yet extremely brittle. Wealth, women and absolute power eventually corrupts and annihilates even the strongest of relationships. In the end, you will never know when your back will be stabbed.

Despair and paranoia aside, this movie has some fantastically gory battles! And speaking of battles, the woman who likes ching chong epic movies chose to leave for the bathroom during the most ching chong epic battle scene.

I am your mother!

The Android had a ball of a time watching this movie with Shan and Ah Ly. Half the time, we were cracking up.

We cracked up at Ian McKellen, who provided his voice for a polar bear who drinks like an Ah Neh. We cracked up at Daniel Craig – everytime he comes on, we couldn’t help but to cue the James Bond theme in our heads. And of course, we cracked up at Nicole Kidman. Look out for her classic Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker dialogue with newcomer Dakota Blue Richards… absolutely priceless.

Once again, the pages of a book gets slashed, altered and reproduced for the silver screen. This time round it was fun, but felt like it was in a mad rush to meet its 140-minute reel time.
